One Very Special Day {August 4, 2012}

Words can't describe the feelings you get on that one very special day...wedding day. Joyfully waiting in anticipation of that blissful moment when you walk down the aisle to the man of your dreams. I remember wondering if it was possible to ever love him more than I loved him in that moment.

When we set the date for the big day it felt like it was a century away. You dream about that day for a lifetime. I can recall countless times dreaming about my wedding day as a little girl. It was all that I could have ever dreamed of. So many wonderful people came to celebrate with us and made the whole day so very special.

It's so easy to get caught up in the moment and worry about all the little details. I'm a detail person and I definitely worried a little too much about the details. One person told me, the wedding is going to happen, what didn't turn out the way you want, no one will even know. It will be perfect because you and Brandon are starting your lives together. It's so very true.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day.

Probably my favorite picture. Silly boys!

Groom's Cake! How cute right?

Brandon made the arch, and I painted the scripture on it.

Rustic Wedding Decor {burlap & lace}

It seems like forever ago that I was planning our wedding. With Whitney's first birthday right around the corner it has brought back so many memories of Brandon and I's wedding day. I am re-purposing a lot of our wedding decor for her birthday party...more on that later.

We chose to have mostly a DIY wedding because we had lots of time and it's much cheaper that way. Brandon is a real handy man when it comes to wood-working so I had him make lots of beautiful pieces for the wedding.

I wanted a rustic themed wedding with burlap, lace and lots of old wood, which has become ever so popular. I love the look of burlap and lace, it's so beautiful with a vintage chic look. You can do so many things with it. If I could choose to do it again, I wouldn't do it any other way. BUT, I do think it's about time for a new trend.

Here are a few pictures of our decor. A more in-depth post to come!
